Brief Description:

Boron powder is a black or brownish amorphous powder characterized by high chemical activity and excellent reducing properties. It features high calorific value, high melting point, and outstanding high-temperature resistance. As a result, it is widely used in metallurgy, electronics, aerospace, pyrotechnics, and fine chemical industries. Under elevated temperatures, boron powder readily reacts with oxygen, nitrogen, halogens, and other elements, making it one of the important functional inorganic materials.

APPLICATIONS:

1. Metallurgical Industry: Used as a high-temperature reducing agent, deoxidizer, and alloy additive. It enhances the strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance of steel and specialty alloys, and is widely applied in the production of specialty steels, cemented carbides, and refractory materials.

2. Pyrotechnics and Propellant Industry: Due to its high calorific value and energy density, boron powder serves as an important component in solid propellants, igniters, and pyrotechnic compositions, particularly in aerospace propulsion systems and pyrotechnic products.

3. Electronics and Semiconductor Materials: Utilized in the production of high-purity borides, semiconductor doping materials, and electronic ceramics. It improves electrical conductivity and high-temperature resistance, making it valuable in electronic devices and the microelectronics industry.

4. Ceramics and Composite Materials: Used in the synthesis of high-performance ceramic materials such as boron carbide and boron nitride, and also as a reinforcing phase in composite materials to improve hardness, wear resistance, and thermal stability.

5. Chemical and Fine Chemical Industries: Functions as a chemical reducing agent and reaction intermediate in the manufacture of boron compounds, catalysts, and functional materials, with important applications in fine chemicals and advanced materials.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:

1. Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.

2. Keep away from ignition sources, heat, and oxidizing agents.

3. Protect from moisture and avoid contact with acids and strong oxidizers.

4. Handle with care during transportation to prevent package damage.

PACKAGE:

1. 500 g/bag or 20 kg/drum.

2. Other packaging options are available according to customer requirements.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:

Boron powder is relatively stable at room temperature; however, its chemical activity increases significantly at elevated temperatures. It reacts with oxygen to form boron trioxide and can react with halogens to form corresponding boron compounds. It is also capable of forming borides with certain metals. Boron powder is insoluble in water but soluble in strong oxidizing acids such as hot nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid. Owing to its strong reducing capability, it can reduce certain metal oxides under high-temperature conditions.
