Brief Description:
Sodium hexafluorophosphate is a white crystalline powder that is highly sensitive to moisture and atmospheric humidity. It is an important high-performance electrolyte salt with significant application value in non-aqueous sodium-ion battery electrolytes. Compared with lithium hexafluorophosphate, sodium hexafluorophosphate exhibits excellent ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability in sodium-ion systems and is a key component of non-aqueous sodium-ion battery electrolytes.
TECHNICAL INDICATORS:
Items | Result |
Appearance | White crystalline powder |
Density | 2.369 g/mL (25 °C) |
Purity (%) | 99.93 |
APPLICATIONS:
1. Sodium-ion batteries: As the core conductive salt in electrolyte systems, providing Na+ transport and maintaining charge balance.
2. Solid-state electrolytes: Used in combination with polymers or inorganic ceramics to prepare composite solid electrolytes, improving ionic conductivity and interfacial stability.
3. Organic synthesis: Used as a fluorinating reagent or phase-transfer catalyst in nucleophilic fluorination reactions.
4. Semiconductor manufacturing: Used as a sodium and fluorine source in thin-film transistor and photovoltaic doping processes.
STORAGE CONDITIONS:
1. Store in a tightly sealed container in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated environment.
2. Protect from moisture and avoid prolonged exposure to atmospheric humidity.
3. Store under inert gas protection (e.g., nitrogen) to reduce hydrolysis risk.
4. Keep away from acids, bases, and strong oxidizing agents.
PACKAGE:
1. Packed in glass bottles or aluminum-plastic composite bags under inert gas protection.
2. Customized packaging is available according to customer requirements.
CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:
Melting point is above 200°C; sodium hexafluorophosphate may decompose upon heating or at high temperatures, releasing toxic phosphorus oxides and hydrogen fluoride gases. It is soluble in water and also soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethylene carbonate (EC), and dimethyl carbonate (DMC). It is relatively stable in dry conditions but highly sensitive to moisture. When exposed to water or humid air, it rapidly deliquesces and undergoes hydrolysis, forming phosphoryl fluoride species and corrosive hydrogen fluoride gas. In sodium-ion battery systems, it exhibits high ionic conductivity and a wide electrochemical stability window with good redox reversibility.
