Brief Description:

2Fluoro4bromochlorobenzene is a colorless to pale yellow liquid containing three halogens (chlorine, bromine, and fluorine). Selective coupling reactions allow sequential introduction of various substituents.

TECHNICAL INDICATORS:

Items

Appearance

Colorless to pale yellow clear liquid

Density

1.75 g/mL

Vapor pressure

0.102 mmHg (25°C)

Purity (%)

≥99.5%

APPLICATIONS:

1. Pharmaceutical intermediate: Used in the synthesis of JAK inhibitors (e.g., fluorinated aromatic rings of tofacitinib) and antiviral drugs (e.g., benzene ring derivatives of peramivir). Example: Suzuki coupling at the bromine position to introduce a heterocycle, while retaining chlorine and fluorine as pharmacophores.

2. Pesticide intermediate: Used to prepare amide‑type insect growth regulators (e.g., the fluoro‑bromo‑chlorobenzene fragment of lufenuron) and herbicides (e.g., benzene ring analogues of florpyrauxifen).

3. Liquid crystal materials: Multi‑halogen substitution allows tuning of LC polarity for fast‑response LCD development.

4. Organometallic complexes: As a ligand precursor, used in C−H activation to construct cyclometalated iridium and platinum complexes for OLED phosphorescent materials.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:

1. Store in a cool, dry, well‑ventilated area; recommended storage temperature below 15°C.

2. Keep container tightly sealed; store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.

3. Separate from oxidizing agents and food containers – do not mix storage.

4. Ventilation systems should be equipped with static electricity grounding.

5. The storage area should be equipped with spill containment and appropriate collection materials.

PACKAGE:

1. Tightly sealed container.

2. Other packaging forms available upon request.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:

Boiling point: ca. 202.1°C (760 mmHg), flash point: ca. 76°C, refractive index: ca. 1.5530. The order of reactivity of the three halogens is Br > Cl > F. Thus, palladiumcatalyzed coupling can be performed first at the bromine site, followed by more forceful coupling at the chlorine site. Low vapor pressure implies slow evaporation, but inhalation is still toxic; ensure good ventilation.
