2,3-Difluorobromobenzene

Brief Description:

2,3-Difluorobromobenzene is a colorless liquid. The ortho combination of bromine and fluorine confers unique selectivity in palladiumcatalyzed couplings, making it a common pharmaceutical intermediate.

TECHNICAL INDICATORS:

Vapor pressure

3.43 mmHg (25°C)

Purity (%)

≥99.5%

APPLICATIONS:

1. Pharmaceutical intermediate: Used in the synthesis of anticoagulants (e.g., benzene‑ring modified rivaroxaban) and antihypertensive drugs (e.g., fluorine‑containing valsartan analogues).

2. Pesticide intermediate: Used to prepare pyrazole carboxamide fungicides (e.g., fluxapyroxad) and benzoylurea insecticides (e.g., teflubenzuron).

3. Liquid crystal materials: Serves as a polar monomer in low‑viscosity LC mixtures, improving low‑temperature performance

4. Organic synthesis reagent: Can undergo halogen‑lithium exchange with n‑butyllithium to generate 2,3‑difluorophenyllithium for nucleophilic addition reactions to form tertiary alcohols.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:

1. Store in a ventilated, cool, dry place (0‑25°C, relative humidity below 60%), away from open flame and heat sources.

2. Keep container tightly sealed; store in a dry, well‑ventilated area.

3. Separate from strong bases and strong oxidizing agents – do not mix storage.

4. Ventilation systems should be equipped with static electricity grounding.

5. The storage area should be equipped with spill containment and appropriate collection materials.

PACKAGE:

1. Sealed glass or metal containers.

2. Other packaging forms available upon request.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:

Boiling point: ca. 158°C (760 mmHg), flash point: 61°C, refractive index: 1.509. Under the 2,3‑difluoro substitution pattern, the bromine atom is highly reactive and can undergo Suzuki coupling with various arylboronic acids under mild conditions. Stable to light and air, but long‑term storage requires a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place.
