APPLICATIONS:

1. Pharmaceutical intermediate: Used in the synthesis of polyfluorinated benzene rings for antidiabetic drugs (e.g., SGLT2 inhibitors); also used to prepare side‑chain modified derivatives of the antifungal drug voriconazole. Example: bromine lithiation followed by electrophilic substitution to introduce a carboxyl or aldehyde group.

2. Pesticide intermediate: Used for fluorinated pyrazole insecticides (e.g., benzene ring analogues of fipronil) and herbicides (e.g., derivatives of fluthiacet).

3. Liquid crystal materials: Multiple fluorine substituents significantly reduce liquid crystal viscosity; used in fast‑response VA‑LCD (vertically aligned LCD) mixed LC formulations.

4. Organic semiconductors: As a monomer for synthesizing poly(3‑fluoro‑2,5‑thienyleneethynylene)‑type narrow‑bandgap polymers for organic field‑effect transistors.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:

1. Store in a cool, dry, well‑ventilated area, in a flammable materials storage zone.

2. Keep container tightly sealed; store in a cool, dark, well‑ventilated place.

3. Separate from oxidizing agents – do not mix storage.

4. Keep away from ignition sources and heat; do not use spark‑producing tools or equipment.

5. The storage area should be equipped with spill containment and appropriate collection materials.

PACKAGE:

1. Open‑head steel drums; ampoules with outer wooden boxes; screw‑mouth glass bottles, crimp‑top glass bottles, plastic bottles, or metal drums sealed.

2. Other packaging forms available upon request.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:

Boiling point: 144°C, melting point: –19°C, flash point: 55°C, refractive index: 1.4860. The three fluorine atoms make the bromine atom highly reactive, readily undergoing halogen‑lithium exchange with n‑butyllithium at low temperature to generate an aryllithium reagent. Relatively stable to air and moisture, but long‑term storage requires a tightly sealed container in a cool place.
